Hardware Service Technician
Join Nordic Computer as a Hardware Service Technician: test, refurbish and configure servers, storage and network gear for data centers worldwide.
Wide range of hardware tasks and data center support
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services at Nordic Computer, you will join a skilled hardware production team, where your focus will be on testing, refurbishing and configuring hardware like servers, storage systems, network equipment, etc. for data centers around the world.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Participate in the on-call rotation with the service team, which handles international technical troubleshooting/support in collaboration with our Service Desk and provides on-site service to customers in Denmark
Join the test and production team, working with testing and configuring hardware systems
Work across all types of hardware and brands
Analytical and interested in technology, especially hardware
You likely have a background or experience in hardware, but it’s not essential whether you are specifically trained as an IT technician, electrician, electronics technician, or something else entirely. The mindset and interest in technology and hardware, along with a structured approach to work, are most important.
You don’t necessarily need experience with data center equipment, but ideally, you have 3–5 years of experience with electronic hardware, including servicing and troubleshooting. If you’ve previously worked as a service technician, that would be a plus.
You should naturally have strong IT skills and familiarity with the MS Office suite. It’s an advantage if you have experience with:
Servers: IBM, HP, Lenovo, and Dell
Storage: Hitachi, EMC, DELL, NetApp, IBM, and HPE
Network: Cisco, Brocade, HP, IBM, and Juniper
Much of your work will be in collaboration with your technician colleagues, our sales staff, and warehouse personnel. Therefore, it’s important that you can work well across departments while also being able to work independently and as part of a team. We also emphasize that you work analytically and in a structured way.
Quality is a top priority at Nordic Computer, and this requires a methodical working style and a sense of duty to follow described test procedures. We take pride in our technical team’s collaboration, where knowledge sharing between employees is a key foundation.
